Design of Adaptive Feedforward Linear Power Amplifier for Wireless Communication

Abstract The performance of a wireless communication system depends on amplifier’s nonlinearity. Adaptive feed-forward amplifier implementation for wideband communication system and a step by step design of power amplifier at 2.4 GHz are introduced. The Feedforward linearization and Adaptive feedforward technique is a well known power amplifier linearization method to reduce out-of band distortion that can approach wideband signals with high efficiency. By using adaptive feedforward system the intermodulation distortion (IMD) for two tone harmonic balance has been reduced. The adaptive feedforward system is implemented and simulated using Advanced Design system (ADS) tool.
